July 4!!!!

Happy fourth everyone! Tomorrow I have a race and I'm excited. Last time I ran a race and got a free pair of shoes and they are super nice. Although there are no prizes like that in this upcoming race, it's still fun to be part of it. Then there's a parade and a whole bunch of things going on. Last year during this time I was up in Sacramento and later I was in Ashland, OR for a Fourth of July fireworks show. I miss it up there, I so don't want to bake in the heat down here in L.A. The thing that's holding me back is art class (which, I have to admit, is pretty rigorous). It will at least help me with my Zazzle skills :) At least I'm spending my Fourth of July on the beach, so I can feel the breeze of the ocean and see the stars shine through the sky. Can't wait!
What are you all doing for the Fourth? Whatever it is, it should be fun!

Happy:)

Why am I happy? Today I woke up at 5:30, ate a bit, dressed in running shorts and forced myself out of the house. It's not as bad as it sounds--really. Today I ran a race--a 5K, that's 3 miles, called the Brentwood Run. It was so beautiful today. Running was going to be music to my ears...except when I actually ran my legs felt like lead, and so did my arms. Maybe I should get new running shoes. The other week, I went to this running store and they told me I have to replace my insoles and shoes every 6 months, which is what I haven't been doing. Well, even though I have expired shoes, I ran over a hill and pushed myself to sprint through the finish line. I'm glad I did. I got 24 minutes, something seconds (to tired to tell exactly what time it was). I literally felt like I was going to faint or throw up. But when I saw the results afterwards, I immediately lit up. I got 4th in my age/gender division. Yes, 4th! So close to getting a medal. Next time...hopefully next time. But I'm still happy:) at least I know I'm still running well.

New Sale!!! (Everyone--Guess what product it is...)

If you guessed Quinceanera Invitations you were absolutely, 100% right!! Again and again, this product proves to be one of my most popular products of all. Thanks to Erik from Texas who bought 100 copies of my invitations.
Check out this product on my store at:

The Doodle Speakers....launching my own line of speakers!

Hope this goes well, but I've designed a few speakers. They seem to be pretty popular right now.

My Cacti Desert Speaker is great for any desert lover. It's also great for summer!
This next speaker is perfect for anyone from Portland, OR. I went there over the summer, last summer, and it's a beautiful place. It's also a hub for the latest indie music. If you are not from Portland but do love indie music, this is also the speaker for you! Image is courtesy of  http://www.imageafter.com/, which is a website which allows people to use their images free and for commercial use, and best of all--it's legal.

This next speaker is perfect for those who value simplicity, but still love the fun, energeticness (if that's a word) of colors.

And this last speaker is great for any musician. Image courtesy of http://www.imageafter.com/.

Have a nice weekend everyone! I hope these Doodle Speakers turn out to be better sellers than my Quinceanera cards (but I still love those cards) !

The Puppy Mill Problem

It's a big problem going on right now. Diseased puppies are herded into shops for the public to purchase them. But it's time to fix that. It's time to notice that puppy mills do not raise healthy, beautiful pets. It's time to campaign the "adopt, don't shop" motto. And while you're protesting, I will supply y'all with some helpful gear. I will add some more later on.

Earth Day is tomorrow!

Just a reminder that tomorrow is Earth Day. If you have time, stop by my store and look at some Earth Day gifts. If you don't, do something eco-friendly tomorrow:)

A New Passover Recipe

I've been dreading the typical Passover foods: matzah with charosetz, matzah with peanut butter, etc. But today I realized that matzah can be exciting. Today I created a kosher-for-Passover matzah pizza. Here's how you can make your own:

1/2 matzah piece (I used the Yehuda brand. Some brands make matzah that taste absolutely horrible, so choose wisely)
Pasta/marinara sauce
Monterey Jack cheese (Grate it so it makes a cup)
BBQ Sauce

First, take your matzah piece and spread some marinara sauce with a spoon. Cover the matzah with the sauce and then slather some bbq sauce over the matzah. Then, sprinkle some grated Monterey Jack. Put the pizza in an aluminum foil covered pan and put it in the oven. Heat the oven at 350 degrees for 5-10 minutes.
Enjoy the pizza! If you tried this recipe, tell me how it went. I hope it will make keeping kosher for Passover easier. It did for me:)
I meant to take a picture of the masterpiece, but I couldn't find my camera : /  Oh well...(sigh)...again, if you tried this recipe, share the pics! I would love to see them!

Pesach + Too Short Hair (But it's fine)

Well,
today I was going to cut my hair just a bit. Yes, I'm not a professional haircutter, but I was still tempted to grab that scissor and snip away. I put the scissor at the length I wanted my hair to be at, but then, as I snipped, something was wrong. I was snipping upwards and my hair became a lot shorter.
"Great," I said, "This is perfect."
But, when life gives you mistakes, you've got to work with them and fix them, right? So my hair was trimmed just a bit more, to look more even. And now I have some swanky short hair. (I probably snipped off 8-12 inches--yikes!)
Also, today is the day before Passover. Everyone was cleaning and making food for tommorow's seder. A week of no bread, and am I ready for it? I hope so.
One thing's for sure. After Spring break, people are going to talk about my hair.
I learned a lesson today: Always go to a hair salon to get your hair cut.

Earth Day....is it really a year for the Earth?

Out of all the things going on in the world right now, the U.S. government decides to shut down public institutions. Which is really sad....think about all our society has to offer: parks, beaches, and many more. Think about that favorite place, such as Yosemite. Now, envision it closed down. With the budget mess going on in Washington D.C. do we really have to shut down the things most important to us? Think about the EPA, which, in fact, does a lot of good for our environment. However, it too, has to shut down. It's all bad-timing, since Earth Day is right around the corner. I truly wish the U.S. would do the right thing and at least step up for the Earth. However, it is sad that we are withdrawing to help the planet that shelters each of us. Resolution this Earth Day and the years to come: go outdoors and explore. Yes, I may sound like a Hippy, but really this is the only way you can connect with nature. To develop a strong bond with it is a true, humane way to live on the planet.

The First Day of Spring

Everybody, it's offically spring. The season of colors, happiness, and fun, that starts today. Currently right now, it's like winter, here in L.A. But I love it, the rain is amazing. The spring season also brings allergies, though, and that's something I do not like. This has been my worst season so far. I think I'm going to count how many times I sneeze in a day.
But I love spring:) Allergies have nothing on me....sorta.

Oh, the Spoiled Children of the Planet

While so many people are suffering on this planet (poor Japan--I hope people there will recover and come out from the ruins the earthquake left them in) there are so many children in America who demand a new this and a new that. These tweens of the era demand too much. Today, while I was shopping in Target, I was overhearing a conversation between a 12 year old girl and her father. When I heard the girl open her mouth, I immediately felt bad for the father. She went from one article of clothing to the next, wanting her father to get each one, apparently. And then she came across some jeans and she exclaimed, "These are the jeans that the girl in Zoe 101 wears all the time." This statement really made me roll my eyes. Are TV shows ruining the values of kids today (not to mention that the jeans were totally destroyed) or are parents allowing their kids to become ruins of media? The other day, I was watching a program on TV about people obsessed with the show Dexter. To me, although I haven't seen this show, I can make a wise conclusion that it is very goory and nasty and heck-why would I watch it when I refuse to be a doctor because of blood. Anyhow, those obsessed viewers of Dexter became obsessed killers. In my point of view, parents should take charge of their children and separate fact from fiction. Dexter and Zoe 101 are not reality, thank you.

OSCARS!

Yes, today is a big day. It's the Oscars. I think the movie that is going to take best pic is "The King's Speech". What do you think?

Where is spring?

Where I am, it is either really hot or really cold. Today was really cold. Last night, the wheather guy said it would rain and/or snow. But what happened? None of that. The only thing that broke through the clouds was the sun. That brought down my moods. Wouldn't it be a miracle for it to snow in sunny CA? I would so love that.
So where is spring? I'm sure it's hiding around the corner. In a few days, the flowers will open up and shine.
I'm also excited for spring because it's the season for designing. So watch out for new designs!
